What is new this year in my practice? I have not updated on my provider panels status. I have been approved as a provider for Empathia EAP (Employment Assistance Program) for a couple of months now. I am still committed to increasing accessibility of counseling and psychotherapy services, especially for those who come from cultures that do not traditional seek out these resources and supportive services.
Another update is that after some absence due to holidays and scheduling conflicts, I am back at my role as a member of the Stakeholder Group for the Alameda County Mental Health Services Act (a result of Prop 63 a few years back), where I contribute to the work of keeping mental health programs in Alameda County accessible, culturally competent and innovative.
Stay tuned for more ideas I’m conceptualizing regarding accessibility and accommodation of counseling and psychotherapy services to meet the individual and cultural needs of the person.
